Submission Guidelines

The Journal of Management and Business (MASS) welcomes the submission of manuscripts that contribute to the fields of management and business. Authors should adhere to the following guidelines to ensure that their submissions meet the required standards. All submitted manuscripts are subject to peer review and must conform to the ethical policies of the journal.

1. Submission of Manuscripts

  • Manuscripts should be submitted via the journal’s online submission system. Submissions through email or physical copies will not be accepted.
  • All manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English or Indonesian, and authors are encouraged to have their work proofread by native speakers before submission if necessary.
  • Submissions must be original work, not under consideration by other publications, and must not have been previously published.

2. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be formatted as follows:

2.1. General Structure

  • Title Page: The title should be concise and informative. Include the name(s) of the author(s), their affiliations, and the email address of the corresponding author.
  • Abstract: Provide an abstract of 200-250 words. The abstract should clearly summarize the purpose, methodology, key findings, and implications of the research.
  • Keywords: Include 4-6 relevant keywords for indexing and search purposes.
  • Main Text:
    • Introduction: Clearly state the purpose of the research and its significance.
    • Literature Review: Summarize relevant existing research and identify gaps your study addresses.
    • Methodology: Describe the research design, data collection methods, and analysis techniques.
    • Results: Present the main findings clearly with appropriate tables and figures.
    • Discussion: Interpret the results and discuss their implications.
    • Conclusion: Summarize the key findings and suggest avenues for future research.
    • Acknowledgments: Optionally, acknowledge any individuals or organizations that supported the research.
    • References: Include only those references cited in the text.

2.2. Formatting Requirements

  • Font: Manuscripts should be in Times New Roman, size 12.
  • Spacing: The document should be double-spaced, with 1-inch margins on all sides.
  • Length: Manuscripts should generally be between 1,000 and 2,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
  • Tables and Figures: Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and referred to in the text. Provide clear captions and ensure that all figures and tables (Cross Reference) are of high quality and easy to interpret.

3. Citation and Reference Style

The Journal of Management and Business follows the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition reference style. All sources cited in the text should be listed in the reference section, and all listed references should be cited in the text.

  • Single author: (Smith, 2020)
  • Two authors: (Johnson & Wang, 2019)
  • More than two authors: (Brown et al., 2021)

4. Ethical Considerations

Authors must adhere to the ethical standards as described in the Publication Ethics of the journal. This includes ensuring the originality of their work, avoiding plagiarism, and disclosing any potential conflicts of interest.

5. Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to MASS are subject to a double-blind peer review process. This means that both the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous during the review process. Authors should ensure that no identifying information is included within the main manuscript file to maintain anonymity.

6. Revisions

If revisions are requested by the reviewers or editors, authors are expected to submit the revised manuscript within the given time frame. When resubmitting, authors should also include a detailed response letter explaining how each reviewer’s comments have been addressed.

7. Publication Fee

Currently, the MASS does not charge submission or publication fees. However, any fees for language editing or proofreading are the responsibility of the author.

8. Copyright and Licensing

Upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication, authors will be required to sign a copyright transfer agreement. All published articles in MASS are available under an open-access license (CC BY), which allows others to share and adapt the work, provided the original author and source are properly credited.
