Author Guidelines for Community Service Journal (COMERS)

1. Submission of Manuscripts

  • Submission Method: Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Submissions via email or physical copies will not be accepted.
  • Language: Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise English or Indonesian. Authors are encouraged to have their work proofread by native speakers if necessary.
  • Originality: Submissions must be original work, not under consideration by other publications, and must not have been previously published.

2. Manuscript Preparation

  • General Structure:

    • Title Page: The title should be concise and descriptive. Include the name(s) of the author(s), their affiliations, and the email address of the corresponding author.
    • Abstract: Provide an abstract of 150-250 words summarizing the purpose, methodology, key findings, and implications of the research.
    • Keywords: Include 4-6 relevant keywords for indexing and search purposes.
    • Main Text:
      • Introduction: Clearly state the purpose of the research and its significance.
      • Literature Review: Summarize relevant existing research and identify gaps your study addresses.
      • Methodology: Describe the research design, data collection methods, and analysis techniques.
      • Results: Present the main findings clearly with appropriate tables and figures.
      • Discussion: Interpret the results and discuss their implications.
      • Conclusion: Summarize the key findings and suggest future research directions.
      • Acknowledgments: Optionally, acknowledge any individuals or organizations that supported the research.
      • References: Include only those references cited in the text.
  • Formatting Requirements:

    • Font: Manuscripts should be in Times New Roman, size 12.
    • Spacing: Double-spaced, with 1-inch margins on all sides.
    • Length: Manuscripts should generally be between 4,000 and 6,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
    • Tables and Figures: Number tables and figures consecutively and refer to them in the text. Provide clear captions, and ensure all figures and tables are of high quality and easily interpretable.

3. Citation and Reference Style

  • Style: The Community Service Journal (COMERS) follows the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition reference style.

4. Ethical Considerations

  • Originality: Authors must ensure their work is original and appropriately cite the work of others.
  • Plagiarism: Any use of others' work must be properly cited to avoid plagiarism.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and sources of financial support for their research.

5. Peer Review Process

  • Review Process: Manuscripts are subject to a double-blind peer review process. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
  • Revisions: If revisions are requested, authors must submit the revised manuscript within the given time frame and include a detailed response letter addressing the reviewers’ comments.

6. Publication Fee

  • Fees: The Community Service Journal (COMERS) does not charge submission or publication fees. Authors are responsible for any fees related to language editing or proofreading.

7. Copyright and Licensing

  • Copyright Transfer: Upon acceptance, authors will need to sign a copyright transfer agreement. Published articles are available under an open-access license (CC BY), allowing others to share and adapt the work with proper attribution.
