Abstract

Fetal monitoring during pregnancy is a crucial part of antenatal care to ensure the health of both mother and fetus. Technological advances in the health sector have provided various diagnostic tools that assist healthcare professionals in conducting more accurate examinations. Two technologies widely used in obstetric practice are ultrasonography (USG) and cardiotocography (CTG). Ultrasonography utilizes ultrasonic waves to produce images of the fetus in the womb, helping to assess growth and development, and detect possible abnormalities. CTG, on the other hand, is used to monitor the fetal heart rate and uterine contractions, particularly in late pregnancy and during labor. This article aims to examine the use of ultrasound and CTG in fetal health monitoring in obstetric care. The method used in writing this article is a literature review, reviewing various relevant scientific sources. The results of the study indicate that the use of ultrasound and CTG significantly assists healthcare professionals in monitoring fetal health more quickly, accurately, and effectively, thereby improving the quality of obstetric care
